I Want to Be a Role Model

I Want to Be a Role Model

My father drinks a lot and it makes me angry. I thought that’s just how life is for people in our area. But when our Youth Sport Leader talked about underage drinking, I understood how alcohol can hurt families and futures.

We watched a video and shared real stories. I learned that being responsible means choosing differently. Now, when older kids drink near the field, I don’t join them. I tell them I have practice. I focus on my goals and take care of my little sister.

The biggest change for me is realizing I can break the cycle. I want to be a role model in my community and someone who shows that sport and education are stronger than alcohol.
