Olympism Club Leadership Pathway
Background
Identifying and nurturing high-potential youth is critical to sustaining long-term community development through sport.
Challenge
Talented and motivated participants needed a platform to advance their leadership skills and gain real-world experience in organising and leading.
Altus Sport Intervention
The Olympism Club was introduced as a progression pathway for selected “Life’s a Ball Champions.” The programme focused on:
- Advanced leadership training
- Event planning and sport management
- Creativity and activity design
- Embedding Olympic values such as respect and excellence
Participants were given real responsibilities, including leading sessions and organising events.
Outcome
- Participants demonstrated strong leadership and initiative
- Successful delivery of peer-led activities and events
- Increased confidence in public speaking and coordination
- Development of creative problem-solving skills
