Life’s a Ball Club Framework
Background
Young people aged 9 –17 often face social and health-related challenges, including limited access to accurate information about well-being, low physical activity levels, and lack of safe spaces to grow.
Challenge
- Low participation in sport, especially among girls
- Limited understanding of health, hygiene, and personal development
- Lack of confidence in decision-making
Altus Sport Intervention
The Life’s a Ball Club created a safe, engaging environment where participants could grow through sport and education. The programme included:
- Regular sport activities to boost participation
- Workshops on hygiene, puberty, and well-being
- Discussions on decision-making and risk awareness
- Encouragement of leadership and peer support
Outcome
- Increased sport participation, particularly among girls
- Improved health awareness and personal hygiene practices
